We worked with Peace Corps during the Youth Technical Training 2.0 in April and May 2016. We participated in the Health Living section as we empowered youth together with their community counterparts, the Adults, to form clubs to promote the health and wellbeing of their fellow youth. We reached out to youth from Western region (Kabale, Mbarara, Fort portal), Eastern region (Jinja, Mbale, Iganga), Central region (Mukono, Wakiso, Kampala) and Northern region (Arua, Gulu, Kitgum, Soroti)
YALI Uganda is the epitome of youth leadership in Uganda. Founded by 2014 Mandela Washington Fellows, we aspire to inspire, engage and equip Ugandan youth. As Haven Anti-AIDS Foundation, two of its members participated in the Fellowship (Mayanja Jamila – 2015 at Dartmouth University, USA and Ddungu Joseph – 2016 at Rutgers University, USA). We are alumni and part of these amazing youth leaders transforming fellow Ugandan youth.
Smart Girls Uganda is a non-profit making, girl centered, development organization that empowers and mentors girls in all aspects of life to create social change and to have a healthy living. Our partnership aims at promoting the health living of youth in schools most especially the young girls. We conduct training, mentorship sessions and self-esteem activities to prevent new infections among the young girls. Our partnerships extend to the Girls Coffee Talks as well as Guys Coffee Talks organized at the US Embassy in Kampala.
Uganda AIDS Commission are the leaders and hold the secretariat of HIV and AIDS in Uganda. We have worked with UAC at all the Youth AIDS Walks as partners to provide new information, statistics, new prevention strategies, and also engage youth in activities to bring about Zero New HIV Infections.
Rotary Vijana Poa is a broad based youthful program that is meant to mobilize, inspire and empower youth to engage them into work and realize their potential thereby curbing the increasing unemployment levels in Uganda. We are implementing partners in this program where we engage HIV positive youth to start, professionalize and sustain their business to prevent new HIV infections as well as live sustainable lives.
Go Girl Africa is a not-for-profit organization that empowers girls to create and lead social change. We work with young women to design, lead and implement social change in their communities. Go Girl Africa works with us in schools to empower young girls to bring about social change within their community settings thereby combating HIV/AIDS together.
Uganda Cares is a collaboration between the Uganda Ministry of Health and AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) based in Los Angeles, USA. We are engaged in HIV service provision and advocacy. We partnered with Uganda Cares and they have provided us with Free HIV Testing services at different event like Youth AIDS Walks.
UNAIDS is an innovative partnership that leads and inspires the world in achieving universal access to HIV prevention, treatment, care and support.We are provided with technical support to reach out with the right information, care and support services to the youth.
