The Because Accelerator is a business accelerator created for entrepreneurs in the early- to middle-stages of product development, drawing on the lessons we’ve learnt in bringing our own manufactured product—The Shoe That Grows—to market. The startup accelerator programme specialises in accelerating your revenue growth trajectory throughout the cohort and developing a strategy for long-term success.

Building on what we’ve learned from developing The Shoe That Grows, the Because Accelerator is a business accelerator program designed to help entrepreneurs take their innovative products to the next level.

The Primary Elements of this free Programme are four.

• Training

The Shoe That Grows, a social enterprise startup at Because International, serves as an example in a 16-week online course on themes related to entrepreneurship.

• Coaching

Selected entrepreneurs will be paired with an experienced coach after the first four weeks, who will serve as their mentor both throughout and after the programme.

• Networking

Entrepreneurs communicate with other members of their cohort, Because Accelerator alums, and the global Because Advisor Network of subject matter experts.

• Funding

Selected entrepreneurs will compete in a pitch competition for a cash prize at the end of the cohort. Through this competition, we were able to connect entrepreneurs with over $100,000 in investment.

The following principles are covered in the trainings:

• A spirit of entrepreneurship
• Establishing a marketing and sales strategy
• Pricing strategy and revenue operations
• E-commerce
• Customer retention and service

After completing the programme, business owners will have a documented business plan, a polished pitch prepared to present to potential investors, progress towards or completion of a next level goal, and the chance to take part in an annual pitch competition.

Eligibility

We strongly encourage anyone with a product that is socially revolutionary to apply for our business accelerator.

Entrepreneurs in the restaurant, entertainment, education, software, food, or service sectors are not accepted as clients.
