Applications are now open for the Social Impact Award Incubation Program Germany to take your idea to the next level.

Their incubation offers you all the resources and support you need to turn your idea into a successful social enterprise. Since they only have a limited number of places available, they ask everyone interested to submit an application. This allows their jury to select the most promising ideas based on impact potential, level of innovation, feasibility and team capacity.

Social Impact Award, founded in 2009, runs education and incubation programs in more than 18 countries in Europe, Africa, and Asia, supporting early-stage social entrepreneurs in developing and implementing innovative business solutions tackling crucial societal challenges. They do so by hosting events and organizing workshops to raise awareness for social entrepreneurship, teaching the necessary skills to navigate from vague intentions to promising ventures, providing access to networks and promoting the best teams with the Social Impact Award.

Social Impact Award addresses young social innovators eager to try solving current social or environmental problems in an innovative way by founding projects, initiatives, or organizations. Ventures can be rooted in different fields, such as poverty reduction, health, education, environment, energy, information and communication technologies, human rights, equal opportunities, care, and many others.

Successful applicants have access to a wide range of support:

• Mentoring and support in validating business and impact models, developing prototypes and acquiring the first followers and customers.
• Access to the international alumni community, which consists of over 1,000 social entrepreneurs from more than 25 countries.

Awards

• There are two types of awards:
  • Jury Awards: The 4 finalist ventures with the highest rating by the SIA jury are awarded with EUR 3.000,00.
  • Community Award: One finalist venture is awarded with Community Award, in the amount of EUR 3.000,00. The decision is based on the results of the Community Voting.
  • Besides the awards, both finalists and winners will receive a free ticket to an online SIA Summit each incubated venture. SIA Summit is the gathering of all SIA finalists and winners from 2024 from all SIA countries.

Eligibility Criteria

• By adhering to consistent evaluation criteria, they can fulfill their mission of helping young people take their first steps into the world of social entrepreneurship. Applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • To ensure that the majority of their offering is aimed at young people, all core team members must be between 14 and 30 years old.
  • They welcome ideas that have not yet been implemented as well as ideas in the early stages of implementation. However, ideas in the early implementation phase can only be submitted if the project was founded after January 1st of the previous year.
  • The submitted projects must not have received any significant formal start-up funding at the time of application. This is defined as formal grants from external sources that exceed €6,000 in value (e.g. angel investment, scholarships, prize money, etc.).
  • Ideas submitted in previous years, excluding previous finalists or winning projects, may be resubmitted. Individuals/teams can apply with new ideas, even if they were selected as finalists or winners in previous years.
